The Components of Physical Fitness

A balanced fitness program has three components: aerobic exercise, strength training, and stretching. Sometimes people focus on only one component and neglect the others. For example, it is not hard to find runners who are aerobically fit but who lack strength and/or flexibility. Similarly, it is not hard to find weight lifters who are strong but lack endurance We recommend a fitness program that emphasizes each of these components because they are equally important to your health and quality of life.
